James Gomwa’s Story
James is a fourteen-year-old head of his household of four siblings, Opportunity 12, Moses 10, Patrick 7, Bothwell 6. Since their parents have passed away, the responsibility of leading and providing for the family falls on James.
James and Moses venture out every day to look for any type of work that might earn the family something to live on. The impact of AIDS and disease on this small family is staggering. There are no surviving grandparents and their aunts and uncles can provide little help. That means there is no one to pay for school fees, make repairs to their house or to provide adult supervision and support. If James’ household were to move away from their village, they would lose any rights to lands their ancestors might have. James, his sister and three brothers need to go to school, and the Passion Center would like to make that possible with your help.
The Passion Center has started helping households like the Gomwa’s, by providing food, encouragement, guidance, medical assistance and protection. We would like to send all of the children connected with the Passion Center to school and help maintain the homes of child headed households.
We need your prayers and support to extend real hope to children like James and his siblings. By knowing that God does love them, they can begin to believe in a new future. Please consider helping children like James go to school by giving to Education Now!
