Linda’s Story
Linda is one of the cutest five year olds out there. She has sparkling brown eyes and a shining smile framed by dimples. Her laugh is irresistible. Linda came to the Passion Center for Children when she was three years old after her hands had been badly burned in a fire. She was the victim of child abuse. Linda was initially treated for her burns at the local hospital. When she was ready for discharge, the local authorities asked the Passion Center to care for her. The burns Linda sustained left her hands deformed. Several of her fingers were partially amputated, and on each hand, her fingers were fused together. How would this affect her life? Would she be able to write? Would she be able to work? How would she care for her children? Working with CURE International, the Passion Center was able to arrange surgery for little Linda to separate her fingers and allow her to use her hands more effectively and give her a better future.
