Our Early Childhood Development (ECD) ministry is focused on preparing vulnerable children, ages 2-5, for success—and early results are proving just how impactful it can be!

At our ECD centers, impoverished families from surrounding village communities can send their young children to us free of charge. These centers provide a safe space for children to learn, grow, and thrive.
The early years are crucial for child development, yet many young Malawian children face serious challenges: poor healthcare, inadequate nutrition, limited early learning opportunities, and the lack of a protective environment. These issues are even worse for orphans and children affected by HIV/AIDS or extreme poverty. As a result, these children face malnutrition and stunted growth.

According to UNICEF, 37% of children below the age of five in Malawi are stunted. Through our ECD ministry, we are committed to reversing these statistics and giving these children the chance they deserve.

Building a Strong Foundation
Our ECD centers are designed to help strengthen and expand the community ministries of our local Church by focusing on the spiritual, educational, nutritional, and socio-emotional development of 2-5 year olds.

Spiritually, we emphasize sharing the hope and love of God and building a strong biblical foundation. Educationally, we focus on language, mathematics, practical life, and culture—especially English, since all academic testing in Malawian schools is done in English. Nutritionally, we provide nutritional breakfasts and lunches to combat malnutrition and stunted growth. For Socio-Emotional Health, we engage children through crafts, sports, and various activities.
